After You Land ...
Your Guide to Picking up Your Rental Car After Arriving at Detroit Metro Airport
Head to the Big Blue Deck:
Once you've claimed your baggage, follow signs to the Big Blue Deck. If you fly in Delta you will need to shuttle to Evans terminal and take a courtesy shuttle to the Big Blue Deck. I will provide with the car location prior to the start or your rental; it is crucial that when you drop off the car to the Big Blue Deck you park in Long Term Parking, take a ticket (do not use a credit card) and you park the car location and send me the Level Number, Color, Zone Letter, Zone Number and Pillar Number, that information to me to provide to the next renter. Sometimes renters are in a hurry an neglect to send this pertinent information that I need in order to start the next rental, when this happens it will incur a convenience fee for the previous renter and I will do my best to locate the vehicle and provide you as much detail as possible. Please see below information on finding the Big Blue Deck from each terminal.
Directions from EVANS Terminal
A skybridge connects each terminal to a Ground Transportation Center (GTC) and long term parking at the Big Blue Deck. The GTC is where several modes of transportation are provided for the traveling public including busses; cabs; luxury sedans; rideshare; and shuttles for hotels, rental cars and off-airport parking. This is located on level 1 of the Big Blue Deck, please see information regarding access to additional levels.
You will incur fees upon leaving Parking Structure:
Your parking fees will be refunded to you as they were incurred as a part of your delivery fee. Please upload your receipt into the turo app and I will begin the refund process. Refunds can only be sent by turo support following the end of your trip. I will provide all information necessary to claiming your refund at the end of this guide.
Directions from MCNAMARA Terminal
Passengers can access shuttle services at any time from the Ground Transportation Center located at each terminal. Terminal to Terminal Shuttles connect passengers to McNamara and Evans Terminal, with a convenient stop at the Westin Hotel located at McNamara Terminal. Shuttles depart approximately every 10 minutes from the Ground Transportation Centers and Westin Hotel entrance.

All Trips Are Remote ...
Turo Go is a new software that has been enabled on all of my vehicles, you will use turo go controls for your rental to locate, lock and unlock the vehicle. As trips are remote I will not always be able to visit vehicles in between trips. Due to this it creates convenience and the opportunity to book last minute without waiting for my approval, however it does leave us at the mercy of the previous renter. I would love to say everyone does a great job of telling me the lot location of the vehicles, maintain them well, fill the tank and clean the outside and inside, though this is not always the case. With this in mind I do have a fee schedule available for incidentals in the "end of trip" instructions. I would ask that if you arrive to a vehicle that is in less than perfect condition you would immediately fill the tank (speedway is just across the street) and run the car through the carwash (closest a couple miles North of the pickup location). Send me the receipt for filling the tank and the wash, I will reimburse this plus add a convenience fee for your time. After the car is clean, please check for bumps, scrapes, and scratches and document these with photos in the turo app so you are not charged for this mishaps and I can pinpoint the culprit.
Troubleshooting Turo Go
If you book a Turo Go car, you can check in remotely and unlock the car directly from the Turo app. Filter your vehicle search for ”App Unlock” to find Turo Go cars. You must download and use the Turo mobile app for trips in a Turo Go car. Some processes you’ll follow for a Turo Go trip, particularly those tied to check-in and checkout, are different than those you’d follow for other trips. Read the information below for instructions and troubleshooting measures that are specific to Turo Go.
If you can’t get the device to work, try the troubleshooting measures below. If those fail, call our US Turo Go team at (415) 463-3200
Make sure you have Wi-Fi or cellular data to unlock the car at the start of the trip.
If you’ve logged out or closed the app, you may also need to access Wi-Fi or cellular data to access Turo Go controls.
Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Be sure that you’re standing next to the driver’s side door.
Try to close and restart the app.
Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the app. If not, update it.
Keys with technology interfere with the Turo Go device. If you’re not using a key to operate or lock the vehicle, store it in the protective pouch.
Checking In and Picking up the Car
You’re responsible for a Turo Go car beginning at the scheduled trip start time until the trip ends. If you’re running late for check-in, let us know. The car will be available to you for up to 12 hours after the scheduled trip start time. If you don’t begin your trip within those 12 hours, we’ll cancel your trip, and you won’t receive a refund. When you arrive to pick up the car at the start of the trip, you must follow Turo’s contactless check-in procedure as you would for any remote handoff.
If there’s a ticket on your Turo Go car when you arrive or you’re unhappy with the vehicle’s condition, do the following:
In the US: Call the Turo Go team at (415) 463-3200.
Hosts provide basic details about where the vehicle is located and how to access it. The app will give you directions to the vehicle and show you a map with its current location. You’ll be able to unlock the car and check in directly with the app. You’ll need Wi-Fi or cellular data to check in for your trip.
It’s essential that you take photos to document the vehicle’s condition before starting your trip. Even if your host says they have taken photos, you need your own set of pictures. Take photos of the fuel gauge and the odometer to show pre-trip fuel level and mileage. Take interior and exterior photos from different angles. Be sure to capture any pre-existing damage so you won’t be held responsible.
Return the vehicle as close as possible to the original pick up spot. Take photos of your drop-off location and a photo of the lot number. Besides documenting the vehicle’s return location, take post-trip photos of the vehicle's condition. Again, take a photo of the fuel gauge and the odometer. Take photos of the same areas from the same angles as you did pre-trip to allow for easy comparison in case of a damage claim. Park in a safe, legal spot. If the vehicle is ticketed or towed within 24 hours of the scheduled trip end, you’ll be responsible. Make sure to return the key. If it’s lost or stolen, you may be responsible for the cost of replacement.
If you are running late:
If you need more time for your trip, notify the host and request an extension. If you try to start a Turo Go car after the trip time ends, the engine will not turn on. Get in touch with our Turo Go team if you’re running late and the car won’t start. In the US, call (415) 463-3200. If you return the car late, we may charge for the additional usage.
